Lane / Rogers history

If you search the Cornwall Census Records (link) for the names in our tree you can track them from street to street , job by job. They came to Canada early and settled in Enniskillen, then moved west to Alberta and south to the States. Recites: articles of agreement, Rich. Rogers and Joseph Thos. Austen, 3 Sep. 1828:
- Rich. R. entitled to an ancient ferry passage across The Par in St. Blazey and Tywardreath, but ferry had of late been disused and a wood bridge placed and kept across the water at Rich. R.'s expense for the accomodation of foot passengers who had paid toll; Rich. R., as lord of the manor of St. Blazey otherwise Roselyon, is also entitled to waste lands called Roselyon moor above the ferry, and to other waste lands through which a road was intended to be carried; Joseph Thos. Austen for his own accomodation and for the public benefit proposed at own expense to place a bridge and causeway with arches across The Par and to make and keep open a road therefrom to Porth in St. Blazey, to which Rich. R. has consented in consideration of £10 rent;
granted liberty to build and keep open bridge and causeway as near as convenient to site of wood bridge, altering channel of river as necessary;
agreement, Rich. Rogers and Joseph Thos. Austen, 28 Feb. 1829:
- Joseph Thos. Austen had not commenced of the works in above agreement but asked for extension of grant to enable him to make canal or railroad for the transit of copper or other ore, timber and other articles, from or near the said bridge at Par to Porth, with a good towing-path, and to enclose part of the beach;
Rich. R. consented, in consideration of £200, Joseph Thos. A. to charge tolls so long as bridge kept in repair; to cut down rocks and encroach on an orchard;
Rich. Rogers died 1830 without executing conveyance for above;
articles of agreement, Jn. Rogers and Joseph Thos. Austen, 16 Sep. 1830:
- lands at Porth, the old cellars at Par, and other lands in St. Blazey and Tywardreath
