Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've
learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world.
The Geach, Coward and Crowl families in Australia. Lane, Grigg and Williams families in Cornwall, Smith, Deeble,
back to Radegan Kneebone, some in South Africa some in the United States all connect to our tree. William Hambly Rogers
came to Canada before he was 25 years old, married and had 12 children. They branched out across the continent and
we are still on the move.
Like the family, this website is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might
help correct or round out the picture.

This 1891 picture of the Smith clan was the beginning of this research. That's Gram in the front row at age 11,
with her father David Smith, and her mother Margaret Lumsden. That's Margaret (Thornton) holding Ethelwyn. My father
(W. Ross) had it stored in an old suitcase in his garage and we found it one day while cleaning out the rafters. It is all
but impossible to research Smith so we started on Rogers and with help from Harry began
our journey. We found an old family bible and walked the graveyards in Calgary, then we hit public records and the internet.
Dad is gone now but his research lives on. I will try to link you back to all the sites that contain information, I've linked
maps to pictures too so please take your time and visit all the families.
Descendants of John Rogers
The earliest record in our family tree is the marriage of John Rogers
and Catherine Deeble in Quethiock in 1725
They had eight children
